Recess. Jungle gyms. Best friends and cooties.

Elementary school is a time where young students grow and develop their thoughts, feelings and knowledge on different subjects. Sanders and Sarah grew up only a few short block from one another and attended Horace Mann Elementary School in North Fargo, N.D.

They didn’t really get to know each other until high school orchestra.

This past May marked five years that Sanders and Sarah had been together. And on July 7th, the two had a picnic together that they would never forget.

Sanders had written 40 letters since he began to look for the perfect ring, that he later discovered at Royal Jewelers in Fargo. He hid the letters away in the same picnic basket that Sarah would soon open on their date. As Sarah read the letter Sanders had written earlier in the day, he got down on one knee and popped the question.
